A US B1/B2 visitor visa turns on one question: does the consular officer believe you will go back? Formally this is called overcoming the presumption of immigrant intent — every applicant is treated as an intending immigrant by default, and the burden of proving otherwise sits with the applicant.

Why applying from Indonesia helps

  • A KITAS evidences settled residence — the core argument against the presumption of immigrant intent
  • An Indonesian PT PMA or employment contract shows economic ties
  • Filing where you actually live removes any question about your choice of consulate

Documents

  • Completed DS-160 and proof the consular fee has been paid
  • Passport, plus previous passports carrying visas
  • Evidence of income: statements, contracts, company documents
  • Evidence of ties: lease, family, business
  • Travel plan, if you already have one

How it runs

  1. Assessment

We look at the profile: citizenship, travel history, status in Indonesia, any previous refusals. If the odds of refusal are high, we say so before fees are paid: the consular fee is not refundable.

  2. Form and appointment

We complete the DS-160, pay the fee and book the interview. Slots are usually open around a month ahead, so the trip is planned to a specific date.

  3. Interview preparation

We assemble the evidence of ties and work through the questions likely to come up. Refusals more often follow from hesitant answers than from missing paperwork.

  4. Interview in Jakarta or Surabaya

You attend in person. The officer gives the decision on the day of the interview; if approved, the passport comes back with the visa shortly after.

Common questions

Is a KITAS required to apply from Indonesia?

Yes, it is required. Either a remote worker KITAS or an investor KITAS works.

How long is the interview wait?

From a few weeks up to a month. We check the current position when you get in touch.

What if I am refused?

Reapplying only makes sense once the reason for the refusal is established, and the second attempt is better run through a specialist firm.
