Visa and KITAS renewal
Extending a visit visa or renewing a KITAS before it expires — and what to do if you are already over.
- Typical timeline
- 3-14 business days
- Cost of service
- from $899
Renewal is the most common reason clients come back to us, and the most common reason people lose money. The two are connected: renewals are filed in advance, and remembered at the last minute.
The hard rule: documents are accepted no later than 7 working days before expiry. In practice you should start two weeks out, and for a KITAS, 60 days out. The gap between "technically allowed" and "comfortable" is measured in thousands of dollars.
The overstay fine runs at roughly 1,000,000 IDR per day. A week of inattention costs about $450. Beyond that it stops being a fine and becomes deportation and an entry ban.
A separate point about KITAS: a gap in status does not only cost money, it resets your record for permanent KITAP. Someone who dropped onto a visit visa for two months finds out years later, while applying for permanent status. It is the most expensive mistake on this list and the least visible at the time.
KITAS renewal prices: $899 for the E33G remote worker permit, $1,699 for the E28A investor permit. Both types renew for either one year or two, and the term is your choice. On the investor permit a renewal costs the same as a fresh application, because the work involved is the same.
We run reminders across our own client base: people hear from us before the deadline gets close. If you did not apply through us, renewal is still available — just write earlier rather than later.

We assemble and file. The minimum is 7 working days before expiry, but earlier is calmer.
Immigration visit1 day
Some renewals require attendance and biometrics. Our staff go with you.

Common questions
How far in advance should I file?
At least 7 working days before expiry. For a visit visa people usually start two weeks out; for a KITAS, 60 days. Filing at the last minute risks being in the country without valid status.
How much is the overstay fine?
Around 1,000,000 IDR per day. For a long overstay the consequences escalate to deportation and an entry ban.
Where do I check my expiry date?
On the entry stamp and in the electronic visa. They sometimes disagree — send us a scan and we will check it against the system.
How many times can a visit visa be extended?
B211A extends twice, 180 days in total. After that you must leave or change permit type.
I am already overstaying, what now?
Do not leave blindly and do not wait — every day adds to the total. Write immediately; the procedure depends on how long the overstay has run.
Do you renew visas issued by someone else?
Yes. All we need is a valid document and enough time.
